About a month ago, Levi saw a monarch butterfly outside the window on a flower. He was extremely interested in it. Taking advantage of his curiosity, we watched a couple videos online about butterflies (I muted the videos and narrated them myself with words he could comprehend & pronounce - no "nectar" or "metamorphosis"). Then we got out the crayons!
He now knows that they start out as an egg, become caterpillars, then grow wings, become butterflies, and drink from flowers. You can see from his heavy scribbling on the coloring page that he is most interested in the butterfly stage. I love watching his expression as he eagerly learns about new things.
